"Posted on a public Billboard "I'm all relaxed at this moment, sipping some nice "Bangalow Coffee", from the Byron bay area. This was part of a wonderful departure, 'gift pack' (that including roasted macadamia muesli and face/skin moisturiser) from a fabulously refreshing weekend stay, (up in the hills), just out of Bangalow. A planned weekend 'getaway', that was everything we expected!! (Bangalow, being a peaceful 'green' type village, is just 15 minutes drive from Byron Bay. - And the people are so 'laid back' & most friendly!). The Saturday morning 'farmer's market' has fresh veges, flowers and tropical fruits, all grown organically, & local. (Large passionfruit, 5 for $2.00 and lemons, the same value. I couldn't resist. The $5.00 bunch of 'a dozen red roses', made me very 'sweet', too.) For the weekend, we choose a very relaxing retreat called "Summerhills", that did not disappoint us at all. It was exactly what we were looking for. This 100 acre property truly reflects the 'hard yakka', both hosts put in, daily. http://www.summerhills.com/index.html Following an easy drive down from the south of Brisbane, (with the 'new'/improved road conditions, it's only 35 minutes from Coolangatta Airport) we were greeted by charming hosts, (Francesca & Graham) and were (instantly) made feel so welcome with a warm hug and kiss (& a firm handshake) from both of them, respectively. For the whole weekend, nothing was a problem to this dedicated and hard working couple. The 'fridge' (we had the 'Honeymoon' Cabin - see photo below,) was full with 'complimentary' extras! - Fruit Bowl, chocolates, plus a bottle of Jacob's Creek, chardonnay Pinot Noir Champagne!. On the way in, we decided to get 'fish & chips' (friday night!) in Bangalow. It looked good (& was) with fresh Coral Trout cooked from the iced display and succulent (local), freshly cooked medium King Prawns plus a few, appropriate seafood dressings! - As we had bought too much we felt comfortable in offering half to our newfound friends to enjoy! - They then spontaneously responded, with yet another bottle of wine, a fabulous Deep Wood (2003) "Ivory" from Margaret River, WA. Now that is a great drop! (Let me assure you!). Breakfast was as BIG as you like to choose! - The cooking facility is attached to the dining area that features the biggest (all guests sit around and chat) solid timber table you'll see and both Francesca & Graham (unpretentiously) prepare freshly blended 'exotic' juices and Hot meals (both mornings I settled for one containing beetroot, fresh lime and 'other' secret ingredients), that, like breakfast, were both LARGE and invigorating ! Yes!!. Breakfast is one and a half hours of yum! - (And a tale or, two!). Easy 'bush walks' throughout the property can take you through a number of gates (close them when coming and going!) with some cows and black sheep enclosed in special fenced off areas. The tropical gardens totally surrounding the accommodation/guests area/self contained bungalows, are worth an, (at least), 'twice' daily meander, and you are welcomed to take a 'snip or, three' to take back home! (We did too!) We had a great, relaxing time! - We met a lovely couple from the USA (Frank & Marylyn) who were all the way over from Sacramento, California, for a wedding held in Byron Bay, on the Saturday. They were very nice people and we exchanged E Mails & will definitely stay in contact. Swimming was also a compulsive part of the 'start & finish' to each day. (The pool just outside our door!). We also had fresh crusty italian bread & some imported cheese, (purchased from a Deli in Bangalow), washed down with a XXXX or, two, by (& in) the spa, with that being ample enough for Saturday night. A good time was had and it is well worth the mention here. "We'll be back"!! - COFFEE ?? - I think I'll make another, LOL! "

Since we have last spoken we have made a few minor life adjustments. We are now the proud owners of our own business. We found a little niche and have been chipping away for quite a few months. It is starting to really kick off and with any luck we will have a raging business on our hands which we are thrilled about. Our other big news is that we have created our own little person to share with the world. A beautiful little baby boy who was born three weeks ago!! His name is Miles and we are totally in awe of him. What a buzz this parenting thing is, if you have any tips please feel free to pass them on.
So it seems this has been a very fertile first year of marriage for us, how could it not be with a wedding like that hey. We will try to send some family photos soon; we are expecting visitors so we had better choof off. We think of you often and hope to hear from you soon.
