Their vision is... "to enrich lives through music globally. SXS takes a multifaceted approach to delivering its vision through producing high quality performances, collaborating with artists at the forefront of chamber music, providing innovative learning opportunities to diverse communities and celebrating music by creating intimate connections with artists, audiences and communities in all contexts. The company is collectively: a commissioning house, a performance ensemble, a recording ensemble; a music education provider; and a mentoring organisation."
About the Bangalow Music Festival itself... it is owned, operated and presented by Southern Cross Soloists and is a major event in the Australian arts calendar. "The Festival maintains a strong tradition of presenting world-class chamber music performances. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the northern New South Wales hinterland, it is no wonder that audiences return year after year to experience everything the Festival has to offer. With nine concert programs carefully crafted by Artistic Director Tania Frazer, as well as community and education events, the Bangalow Music Festival has something to suit all tastes. The 2019 Festival will explore concepts that have been at the core of Southern Cross Soloists for many years. Audiences will be taken on a journey of discovery through the language of music, as our musicians expose and demonstrate the level of communication and collaboration it takes to truly present Conversations Through Chamber Music."
